hayward h1001d pool heater trouble?

heater blower works ignitor sparks but will not light it seems as there is no gas i checked gas supply gas is flowing into gas valve but not sure it is making it to manifold into burners what could be the cause of this
i have checked burners all are open i have checked ignitor is sparking i even had a old hayward same type so i took old gas valve off and put on new heater it workee for almost 2 days and now same thing is happening heater will fire but not ignite

more than likely the gas is not getting through to pilot tip to light when the igniter is sparking. There can be a couple of things to cause this problem! Could be web in pilot if its been off for a while, gas valve knob is on off, bad gas valve, etc… You’re best bet if not easy fix, is to call in a tech to repair it. Its not worth blowing yourself up over!!! Good Luck!

Pool Heaters Heat Pumps

Does my pump/filter need to have an equal/higher flow rate than the heat pump?

Hi

I’m planning on getting a heat pump with a flow rate of 6000 litres per hour. The sand filter pump I was looking at has a flow rate of 5500 litres per hour. Is this okay, or does the filter need to have at least the same rate as the heater?

This is on a 24 x 12 foot pool.

Thanks!

Ross

P.S. Have posted this question separately to my earlier one as it’s slightly less complicated and hoping someone will have a quick answer… many thanks!!

At least equal. There will be a pressure switch inside the heat pump that monitors water flow. If there’s not enough flow, it’s electrical contact will remain in the open position, preventing the heat pump’s compressor from starting. It’s a safety feature to prevent overheating.
